All original and complete. The sword has an excellent untouched blade with excellent markings. It is stamped on one side of the ricasso in an oval, "MANSFIELD & LAMB, CRESTDALE, R.I." and on the other side, "U.S./J.M./1864". The blade is excellent & bright throughout with no chips and has Its original bright polished color on it. The original grip is fine and untouched throughout showing light wear. This includes the fine leather wrap, and the original brass wire. The brass guard is also fine and untouched throughout. The top of the pommel is U.S. Sub Inspected. The original scabbard is fine throughout with a wonderful mix of original color and natural patina on it. It also has some light peppering on it in spots. This Is A Very Fine Condition All Original & Untouched Example Of A U.S. Civil War Military Issued "Mansfield & Lamb" Model 1860 Cavalry Sword Dated 1864.
