Description:
A broken in and well-patinated vintage British shotgun is a lovely thing, but have you ever wished you could go back in time to purchase one directly from the original gunmaker?  To experience handling one new, with all the original finish and feel as when it came directly out of the workshop.  Well, with the help of a second mortgage you can still order a gun from one of the remaining London gunmakers, or, better yet, find a gun such as this Webley and Scott, custom made in 1968, but then hardly, if ever, used.

I have posted a video of this gun, and me shooting it, on Youtube, but Guns Int'l does not allow me to post a link.  However, if you go to Youtube and type in this title, "Custom Webley and Scott English Shotgun" you will be brought to the video.

This Webely is essentially in like-new condition, and better yet, is chambered for 2.75"shells, has excellent modern stock dimensions, mechanical non-selective single trigger, and a lovely semi-beavertail grip, making it excellent for both field work and clays.  The gun even comes with its original bill of sale and company correspondence, showing that a Mr. J. Halfacre of "Tall Acres", Money Road, Hollyport ordered it on the 8th of July through Hammant's of Henley-on-Thames.   This gun, however, did not get used because I know that Mr. Halfacre had prior purchased a matched pair of Churchills, which were identical in styling to this Webley, and thus answered for himself the age-old question, "how many guns does one man need?"  As it turns out, in this case, the matched pair was more than enough for him, and this Webley remained in storage. It is very nicely presented in a custom-made, solid walnut case with walnut cleaning rod and accessories, oiler, and snap caps.  It retains virtually all of its original case colors.  Barrel and furniture blacking is glossy and bright.  Bores are in excellent condition.  When you open and close the gun to re-cock the lockwork and ejector work, you can tell that it hasn't even been shot enough to settle the gun in.

It truly feels and looks like a new/new old-stock gun.  In the hands it is extremely lively, and swings smoothly but with almost no effort.  It definitely has the feel of a magic wand about it. With the raised Churchill rib, it is very pointable, indeed.  It has all the superlative characteristics of a classic English game gun, but with the added benefit of a semi-beavertail fore-end to stop one from canting the barrels during the gun mount, a semi-pistol grip for greater control, a file-cut raised rib for pointability and a single trigger for speed.  Please take note of the very last picture in the list, where you can see there is one small bruise to the checkering on the fore-end about 5/16" in size.

Please let me know if I can answer any questions.
