Model 1855 U.S. Springfield Armory .58 caliber pistol-carbine. Lockplate and barrel tang both stamped 1855. Front of lockplate with clear U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Lockplate primer door with clear eagle. Metal overall is a smooth untouched pewter-grey patina. All brass components untouched as well with nice age patina. Mechanics are tight and excellent. Complete with original ramrod, swivel and ring in buttcap. Original 2-leaf rear sight. The wood overall is fine, visible is clear cartouche. The shoulder stock is very is fine overall, still retaining its original thin piece of deerskin in the yoke which is always missing, stamped on the lower tang with assembly number 10. Brass buttcap is matching as it is also stamped 10. Brass buttplate stamped U.S. Complete with swivel, no cracks to wood. Slight wiggle stock to pistol. These '55 Springfield pistols with shoulder stock have always been desirable, this one is way above average. $5,500.00 O.B.O.
