Description: This is a finely crafted 16 Gauge sxs side plated box lock gun,  by Leopold Oppenauer of Ried, Austria…The 28 ¼"  Prima Essen Steel barrels are choked extra full and extra full. 2 ¾" chambers with fine bores…This is an extractor gun with right barrel equipped with an adjustable set trigger…The length of pull is 14 ½" over a solid pad. Stocks drops are 1 ½ and 2 ¾"…Weighs just 6 pounds, 6 ounces… Other quality features include stock tear drops, fine 20 line to the inch checkering, bushed firing pin behind right barrel only, action side clips and cocking indicators at top of frame…And to top it all off, the frame and side plates exhibit fine, full coverage English style scroll engravings…Overall, very fine all original condition, except for the pad…An image of barrel flat proof marks is included, which indicate barrels were proofed to the highest level of pressure standards, of the time, being in 1931 by Ferlach... It has been suggested that the set trigger and extra tight chokes set this fine gun up to shoot Brenneke type hunting slugs and buck shot…..If so, its versatility for use on deer sized game just adds to its appeal…A Brenneke in the right barrel and a buck shot load in the left barrel make for an awesome short range deer hunting gun… It has also been suggested that this fine gun was originally made with two sets qf barrels, the other set being perhaps a sxs combination gun, or even a double rifle...   Price: $3,000.00
