Description:
REDUCED PRICE - Remington Hepburn No. 3 sporting and target model, lever activated, falling block, single shot rifle.  These rifles were made in Sharps caliber all the way up to 50-90.  This one is chambered in 45 2-7/8 length.  Newer designation is 45-100 or 45-110, depending on the powder charge.  Barrel is 28" full octagon, marked on bottom flat 45 2-7/8.  Top flat of barrel is marked E. Remington and Sons, Ilion, NY  Serial number is 4665.  It has a single trigger.  All mechanical functions feel tight and fully operational.  Has a blued steel curved butt plate.  Stock and forearm have no cracks, fit tight to action and barrel.  Stock is checkered, has a few dings.  The forearm has a case hardened steel Schnabel style tip.  The receiver is case hardened, has 80-90% color remaining.  Never any pits, screws are all in good shape.  Octagon barrel has 70-80% blue remaining.  Barrel retains good sharp rifling.  Receiver has patent date October 1879.  Rifle has correct rear and front sights.  Rifle shows no sign of ever being refinished.  Looks 100% original.  All in all, it's a fine original buffalo rifle.  $3550 includes shipping in lower 48 states.  Open to your offer.  New York state requires shipping from seller's FFL to buyer's FFL even though this is an antique.
