Description:
Serial #HA27306A, .303 British, 25" barrel with a good bore that has some light pitting within the grooves. This is an October, 1943-dated rifle that has retained 80-85% of the original blue finish with silvering and fading at the muzzle, on the high edges and projections, as well as along the bearing surfaces of the non-matching numbered bolt. The non-matching magazine has a commensurate amount of blue remaining, with some additional hints of plum-brown freckling along the sides. The forend, handguards, and buttstock have numerous small handling marks scattered about the original oil finish, with a line of worn white paint on the left side of the buttstock running up from the buttplate. This is a very good example of a wartime production No. 4, without any post-’68 import stamps, and would make a fine piece for display. FFL or C&R
