The model 1874 or Gras was the French army's primary rifle from 1874-1886. The Gras was a 11mm metallic cartridge adaption of the single shot breach loading black powder rifle.The breach is marked MLE 1874, DARMES, St. Eienne, S 1877. Overall a very good functioning French Gras military rifle with a good bore, complete with sling swivels, cleaning rod and original correct bayonet with scabard.
