Introducing the Smith & Wesson .38 double action, 3rd model top break revolver, a true gem from the late 19th century. This particular model, serial # 268808 , was produced between 1884 and 1885. RARE only around 2 years of this model manufactured.
Condition: 4" raised rib barrel with a good bore, a couple spots of pinprick pitting and still showing strong rifling. The metal surface still retains most of the original nickel with minor pinprick surface pitting and light freckling throughout. The diamond checkered monogram hard rubber grips rate very good. All barrel markings are clear and legible and all appropriate parts are serialized to the gun. Mechanically functions excellent in single and double action with nice timing and lock-up.
