Description:
Serial #306936, 7.5mm Swiss, 30 3/4" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle was made in 1904 and has matching numbers on the receiver, barrel, bolt, magazine, and buttplate, with the metal retaining 80-85% of the original blue finish that has silvered at the muzzle, faded to mottled gray along the high edges and projections, and also has a mild plum-brown patina starting to form on some spots as well. The bolt has a mostly bright gray patina, and the red-brown resin handle is intact. An import mark is present on the left side of the receiver. The wooden stock and handguard have an armory added finish over numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes throughout with a soft, but still visible, Swiss cartouche on the right side of the buttstock. Additional numbers are stamped onto the comb just ahead of the buttplate tang: "129043" and "6 (in circle)." An original steel and brass muzzle cover is also included. This is a very good-near fine example of a modernized, pre-Model 1911 Schmidt-Rubin, and would make a splendid addition to any collection of 20th century military rifles. FFL or C&R;
