Description:
The Smith & Wesson DA 44 is an improved version of the earlier No.3 pistols, utilizing a double action trigger system and improved construction, allowing for toolless field stripping facilitating easy cleaning and maintenance. This example has been entirely refinished and supplied with a custom set of grips. Internally the lockwork is in very good condition and shows good timing and locking. The cylinder does appear to be a replacement , with a different serial number than the frame, but the timing and fitment is very good. The bore has areas of deep pitting, but sharp rifling. Finally the surface finish, it has been re polished and salt blued, making it look quite different from originals.
