Description:
For sale is a Spanish Victor Sarasqueta side-by-side shotgun chambered in 12 gauge. The shotgun features 17 ½" barrels with 2 ¾" chambers and is estimated to be from 1951. The receiver had been previously color case-hardened with intricate engravings, though much of that original finish has worn away over time. The barrels are otherwise blued and the watertable and breech face have been jeweled. The barrels feature fixed chokes of full in the left barrel and improved modified in the right barrel. The rib is checkered and grooved with a single brass bead front sight. The solders seem to be in good condition, as the barrels ring well; however, drilled holes in the bottom of the rib indicate that they have been previously repaired. The gun has double triggers with selective extractors. The walnut furniture of this shotgun has a rubbed oil finish; the stock is an English straight tradtional style, while the forend is a Splinter-style and also has engravings on the metal hardware. The stock has an asymmetric on cast, 14 3/8" length-of-pull, and drops of 1 5/16" at the comb and 2 1/8" at the heel. The barrels are clean and in good condition except for right at the muzzle, where there is some surface rust that extends no more than a ¼" into the barrel. The chambers are also in good condition. The breech and watertable are in good condition and the jeweling is still visible on their surfaces. The action on this gun is smooth and well-broken-in and everything operates crisply. Fitment on the gun is also quite good. This Spanish side-by-side does not include a box or case. 12 Gauge
