I just received the following message from a collector:
Hello, Campogiro. Just to let you know some information regarding your bayonet. It is a common misconception about so-called "Spanish copies." Perhaps "copy" or "reproduction" are not quite the correct terms, they were never produced in Spain, they were assembled in post-war Germany in the 1945–1950s from leftover parts, often in the same workshops that had been used during the war. They couldn't be sold in Germany due to anti-Nazi laws and the only country in Europe that was willing to sell bayonets with Nazi symbols was Spain under Franco, hence the name "Spanish copies." This was my original description: German Engraved Bayonet in Excellent Condition, mint blade, no parts wiggling. I was told that this is a so called "Spanish copy" reproduction made in Spain in the late 1950's using original German parts, many of these bayonets can fool even the experienced blade collector.
