Description:
Serial #7153, .50 Caliber, 21 5/8" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has traces of mild freckling within the grooves. This is a very handsome carbine that has an overall plum-brown patina on the exposed metal with some traces of original blue still visible peeking through the freckling. Likewise, the action locking spring has traces of the original bright fire blue finish visible though the freckling. The walnut forend and buttstock are in very good shape, with numerous minor handling marks, small scratches, and mild bruises scattered about the original military oil finish, and a crisp cartouche on the left side of the wrist. The lock-up is still tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a great looking Civil War carbine, and is in very good-near fine condition overall. Antique;
