Very nice deep cut scroll engraving with lots of vivid original case coloring. Double triggers, automatic ejectors, nitro Scott “Special Steel” barrels, auto safety and nicely figured European walnut stock. Very good mechanical condition. Scott serial number 74859 was made in 1905 – 06 and weighs 6lb 9oz. Twelve bore payload in an easy to carry and swing package. The 26” Scott “Special Steel” 12 bore barrels are nitro proofed and chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. Rumors to the contrary notwithstanding low pressure 2-1/2” cartridges are available in the US from Clays Ammo, Game Bore and RST Shells. The barrels are topped by a solid raised tapered striated rib. The top of the right barrel is inscribed “W & C Scott 78 Shaftesbury Avenue The Monte Carlo A”. The top of the left reads “London England”. The right barrel is bored 0.733 with a constriction of 0.004 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.024. The left barrel is bored 0.736 with a constriction of 0.035 for Full choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.024. The possible replacement stock is made of nicely figured European walnut with a satin oil finish and crisp checkering. The original forearm shows some wear to the checkering and several minor handling marks. The stock is finished with a new leather recoil pad. Stock dimensions are 14-5/8” including the one inch leather pad by 1-5/8” by 2-1/2”. Cast off for the righthand shot. *** Please note that the photographs are part of the description.
