Ships Gunwale Mounted Blunderbuss Swivel gun made in 1780 Brass Blunderbuss flintlock with 26 inch barrel. This is a quite large 26" Iron Barreled Flintlock Blunderbuss Swivel gun that is 2.5" wide across the muzzle. Overall length is 42 inches. All brass military mounts with heavy hardwood stock cut for swivel yoke mount approximately at center. Barrel still retains clear correct British proof marks for the era. Lock marked LONDON with a crown over S.M. thought to be for the London gun maker military contractor William Moore who worked at 78 Edware Road, London and made flintlock swivel guns under Royal government contract. Mr. Moore remained in business until 1835.
This is a hard to find original British naval swivel blunderbuss complete with ramrod, swivel yoke mount, ready to display in the finest of Naval collections.
