"Serial No. F36341, made 1953, 7.5 French, 23" round barrel. This scarce MAS-49 is one of approximately 6,000 contract rifles manufactured by France and supplied to Syria in the early 1950s. This example retains the distinct features of the Syrian contract variant, including the correct bayonet and grenade-launcher spigot—both of which are key identifiers of this rare production run. All serial numbers are matching, and the underside of the barrel is import marked. The stock shows expected service wear, with handling and usage impressions consistent with foreign military use. The action is smooth and functions correctly. This is a desirable and well-preserved example of an uncommon MAS-49 variant.
