Description:
Serial #D2651, .30-30 Win, 26 inch barrel with a near excellent bore with very strong rifling and some frosting in the grooves. This is the Marlin Model 1893 and marked as such on the tang placing production prior to 1906 when it was changed to Model '93. This very fine example has been numbered "13" on the lower forearm and was likely a Ranch or Sporting Camp gun. The barrel and magazine tube show about 75-80% of the original blue with crisp markings showing some scattered use marks and scratches. The frame and lever still show about 40-45% of the original case-colors that tone from vibrant to a smoky pewter-gray. The stock and forearm are both solid with a heavy varnish layer showing areas of underlying marks and contusions. It is sighted with a semi-buckhorn rear and blade Rocky Mt. front sights. The action functions properly. A great example of these classic turn of the century Marlin rifles that likely has a great history behind it. FFL or C&R
