This gun is configured exactly as it is listed in the Parker Gun Identification and Serialization book: 28 gauge (on the most desirable "00" frame with scalloped water table); 28" barrels; single trigger; ejectors, capped pistol grip and skeleton butt. According to the barrel flat stamp of "KF" this gun was made in May of 1937 thus making it amongst the last of the Parkers made in Meriden, CT. Sometime towards the end of 1937 production was moved to the Remington plant in Ilion, NY, at which time the gun would say both Parker on the bottom and Ilion on the top rib of the barrel, whereas this gun is marked Parker on the bottom of the receiver and Meriden, CT on top of the rib! The 28" barrels have, exact to specifications: 2 3/4" chambers, .550" bore diameters and each tube is choked .020" Full Choke. On top of the rib are original front and middle beads. The buttstock and beavertail forearm were crafted from very "select" Walnut and the gorgeous figure shows very well on both sides of the buttstock. The length of pull is 14 1/8" to the Skeleton Butt. 1 5/8" drop at the comb and 2 1/2" drop at the heel with neutral cast. The gun weighs 5 lbs 15 oz and balances as it should between the hands. The gun appears in all regards to be 100% fine original finishes. Of course the noticable lack of finish is always the engraved case colored receivers and this is no different. Traces of colors on the sides with more visible on the bottom around the trigger guard and on top. No cracks or damage in the wood, just 98 years of a few, very light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. This may very well be one of the best examples of a very well optioned DHE 28 gauge anywhere! Look closely at the photos...this is a No Excuse Gun!
