Description:

A beautiful example of the scarce and superb mannlicher stocked Husqvarna Model 456 lightweight rifle in the ever popular 30-06 caliber. S/N 225224 A with matching # bolt. 21” slim contour barrel. The bore is bright with strong rifling and is generally very good with some slight roughness in the grooves at the chamber end only. Mechanical functions are all excellent with a crisp and glassy smooth trigger break. 98% Blue, 98% Varnish on the very nicely figured wood with some scattered light marks. One of my all time favorites, this particular era of Swedish made Husqvarna rifles are among the most perfectly balanced and greatest shouldering sporting rifles ever produced, and have certain characteristics that reign supreme over others of this make that may look similar but are not. They are very high quality, combining master craftsmanship with a well proven HVA Mauser type action with robust claw extractor, have better wood with graceful stock lines that usually feature a schnabel fore-end tip (this one is the scarcer factory full stock version) and pancake style cheekpiece, high quality cut checkering (including the forearm panels), and better quality sights.
Good examples of these rifles are hard to find, and they simply can not be beat for the money.
