Description:
General Specs: Browning, 1963, 16 Gauge, 7lbs. 3oz., Choked Full, LOP 14 3/8", DAH 2 3/8", DAC 1 1/2"
Serial Number:  3S15156

Needing little introduction, the Browning A5 is one of the most iconic shotguns ever designed. With its signature humpback receiver design, the Browning’s Auto-5 is instantly recognizable and with more than 2.7 million made, it is a common sight both in the wild and the more manicured lawns of sporting clays and Trap lines! These guns were made to be used, and millions of hunters and sportsmen did just that, slinging billions of rounds of ammo at all kinds of targets and they’re still going strong! Manufactured in Belgium in1963 and weighing 7lb. 3oz, this Browning Sweet Sixteen is notable for its 99% original factory finishes. This gun features a vent rib barrel with 99% factory original bluing it is choked Full and has a mirror bore, and check out the breech face, this gun has been fired but maybe just a box or so of shells! The gun is in perfect mechanical condition; the receiver has 99% original factory finish with crisp Grade 1 hand engraving and perfect screws. The most desirable A5 guns are the long tang, round knob guns built before Browning’s ‘Salt era’. Guns built after 1966 were prone to salt contamination and rust because of the way Browning cured their wood.  Not all guns were affected, but the marketplace still has an aversion to the later guns manufactured between 1966 to1972. This beautiful A5 falls outside of the danger range and is SALT FREE. The furniture shows some moderate figure with excellent checkering and is capped with an art nouveau style Browning hard rubber buttplate. Sweet Sixteen’s are always in demand and with a finite number available they are becoming harder to find. This is a rare find; a little used gun in 99% condition with very few handling marks. If you’ve been waiting for just the ‘right’ A5, don’t hesitate to add this one to your collection. Look over the photographs and specifications bellow. Thanks for looking!
