Winchester Model 1897 - Takedown Version - 12 Ga. Pump Action Shotgun - Smooth pistol grip style stock and grooved forend with butt plate. 5 round tubular magazine. 29 In. long full choke Nickle Steel barrel with front bead sight. Steel magazine and exposed bolt design by John Browning which became famous during WWI with it's slam - fire capabilty . The WWI trench gun version has become a collector favorite. Bore is clean and bright. Action is smooth and crisp. Barrel and receiver retaining approx 85% bluing. Stock and forend have a few light handling marks . No cracks or chips exceptionally solid stock and forend. Butt plate is in great shape. Overall condition is excellent for it's age. Includes a new soft sleeve. Manufactured from 1897 to 1957. This one was manufactured in 1938.
