Phenomenal, Limited Edition, Colt-Louis Daniel Nimschke (LDN) Engraver's Series Government Model as commissioned by TALO Distributors, in .45 ACP, SN: LDN080, one of 300 pistols in serial range LDN001-LDN300, a brush finished pistol with extensive custom scroll engraving throughout the slide and frame. The slide is especially ornate, with geometric diamond patterns supplemented by gold accents on top, "LDN" artist's initials forward of the rear sight, and a gold rampant colt on the left side behind the serrations. Blued front and drift adjustable rear sights. Top of exposed barrel marked "COLT 45 AUTO". Right side of frame marked "COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A." followed by serial number "LDN080". Dark wood grips with unique Nimschke pattern, gold rampant colt medallions on each panel, and gold allen-head grip screws. Includes two brush finished magazines with 6 indicator holes, left side having ".45 ACP" marking and "COLT 45 AUTO 8-RD" marking on floorplates. Blue Colt box with Colt Logo in gold, "One of 300" Talo Distributors flyer, owners manual, lock, hang tag, and chamber safety flag. Complete in original white shipping sleeve with "Nimschke" and "COLT ENGRAVERS SERIES" on top, end label referencing make, model, caliber, finish, barrel length, and serial number. This commemorative piece honors Louis Daniel Nimschke, a master firearms engraver, who worked from 1850 to 1904 and engraved over 5,000 firearms for major manufacturers including Colt, and created what became known as the "Nimschke School" or "New York Style" of engraving.?
