Description:
Considered by many to be the finest shotgun ever made the Scott Premier Imperial features “extensive engraving of the very highest quality with the finest Italian walnut, and fleur-de-lis checkering” along with highly figured Damascus barrels. The residual case coloring is vivid and nearly 100 percent intact. The gun also has double triggers, automatic ejectors, auto safety, a gas check, side clips, Scott’s Improved Bolt, engraved heel and toe plates, engraved pistol grip cap, and crystal cocking indicator ports. Scott serial number 50511 was made in 1893. Gun weight is 7lb 8oz.

The 30” highly figured Damascus barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. The bores are shiny and bright. They are topped by a raised solid tapered stippled rib. The rib is inscribed “ W & C. Scott & Son The Premier Imperial 10 Gt. Castle Street Regent Circus London England”. The right barrel is bored 0.730 with a constriction of 0.030 for Improved Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.028. The left barrel is also bored 0.730 and has a constriction of 0.030. Minimum wall thickness is 0.028.

The stock and forearm are made of highly figured walnut with highly engraved heel and toe plates. The stock has a swept back Prince of Wales style pistol grip that is topped by an elaborately engraved cap. The stock and forearm have been professionally refinished and the checkering is crisp. Stock dimensions are 14-1/8” by 1-1/2” by 2-3/4”. Cast off for the righthanded shooter.

This is a rare, beautiful and very high quality shotgun in great condition. I does have a few handling marks on the stock. The browning on the barrels is in excellent condition but does have a few small wear marks from normal usage.
