Here we present a C&R Belgian Browning Auto 5 “Light Twelve” Semi-Automatic Shotgun, manufactured in 1951 in Herstal, Belgium. The Browning Auto 5 Light Twelve Semi-Automatic Shotgun is a classic design that has been a mainstay of hunters for generations. It is known for its streamlined handling, legendary reliability, and smooth shooting performance. The shotgun is powered by a gas operated system, which helps to reduce felt recoil and ensure reliable function in a wide range of conditions. The A5 Light Twelve is capable of firing 3-inch shells, giving it the flexibility to take on nearly any waterfowl hunting task. Its lightweight, ergonomic design makes it comfortable to shoot, and the balance of the gun is excellent, making it easier to swing the barrel and maintain a steady sight picture. The Browning Auto-5 was the first mass-produced semi-automatic shotgun. Designed by John Browning in 1898 and patented in 1900, it was produced continually for almost 100 years by several makers with production ending in 1998. It features a distinctive high rear end, earning it the nickname "Humpback". The top of the action goes straight back on a level with the barrel before cutting down sharply towards the buttstock. This distinctive feature makes it easy to identify A-5s from a distance. A-5s were produced in a variety of gauges, with 12 and 20 predominating with 16 gauge (not produced between 1976 and 1987) models also available. The shotgun saw military service worldwide from World War I through the Vietnam War.

The engravings are well preserved. The markings are clear. Robust action. The smoothbore is mirror bright. Light checkering. The middle sight bead is missing. Engravings are light on the receiver. Numbers on the bolt and receiver match. Liege proof left receiver.
