Here we present a C&R Anschutz Model 54 Standard Bolt Action Single Shot Target Rifle manufactured circa the mid-1950s in Ulm, Germany. Anschütz entered the target rifle market in the 1950s with the Model 54 action, releasing. The combination of heavy receiver, short lock time and an excellent trigger almost immediately eliminated the Winchester Model 52, known as the "King of the .22s" for the first half of the 20th century, from elite shooting and Olympic competition and positioned Anschütz as the premier brand for UIT/ISSF shooting in the second half of the 20th century.
The Model 54 Standard bolt action single shot is a precision rimfire rifle known for its accuracy and reliability. The rifle was available in either the single shot version, as is this example, or a repeater. The Anschutz 54 Series rifles are the cream of the crop when it comes to competition shooting. One of the most accurate rifles on the market, there is a reason you see 54 Series rifles at top competitions.
This gun features a rear peep sight and front globe sight.
The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish. The stock is well preserved with light wear. Good checkering on the wrist. Rear sling swivel is missing. Strong action. “Classic Arms Cordova TN” Import marked. Legible markings.
