Blackwater Iron Horse IHA1-DMR – 223 Wylde – 18" Barrel – 30+1 – Mint Condition
Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR): A modern high-precision rifle used by infantry in the Designated Marksman role. It generally fills the engagement range gap between a service rifle and a dedicated sniper rifle at around 300–600 meters. DMRs are distinguished from sniper rifles in that they are semi-automatic to provide higher rates of fire.
We weren’t familiar with Blackwater’s Iron Horse DMR until this one came into the shop on consignment. Having had the chance to look this one over in detail, there are a lot of great features to like.
One very unique feature of the DMR is the LDF trigger or a “lever-driven fire" trigger. This technology is innovative and the theory behind it is that the shooter can use the more dexterous and inline digit, the thumb." Blackwater states that group sizes, on average, are 26 percent smaller than traditional trigger systems.
The buttstock is designed to have a 1.5-inch adjustable length of pull as well as an adjustable cheek riser. The system is known as the RAPS (Rapid Adjustable Precision Ambi Buttstock).
The safety is an ambidextrous safety selector switch that is a slide to select safe or fire. Its placement is ideal in that it can be manipulated by the trigger finger or middle finger without adjusting your grip.
In addition to these innovations, this rifle has:
Multiple QD attach points for both left and right handers.
A full length picatinny rail.
Ambi charging handle.
M-LOK handguard
Skeletonized grip.
We don’t know how many rounds have been fired through this rifle but we suspect that it’s a pretty low number. The bore is mint and the barrel is bright. The metal finish on the rifle is in Excellent condition.
