U.S. Civil War Military Issued Springfield Model 1861 Musket Dated 1862
An Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Springfield Model 1861 Musket Dated 1862 In Excellent Condition. Excellent metal and fine markings throughout. There is a clear eagle on the lock, & it is marked "U.S. SPRINGFIELD" to the right of it. It is clearly dated '1862" behind the lock. The top of the barrel is dated 1862 and has a "V/P/EAGLE" on the side of it. The butt plate is clearly marked "U.S." All the bands are marked with "U's" All of the metal on the musket is in the bright shows light cleaning at one time. The wood on the musket is excellent throughout with crisp edges. it has a wonderful even grain and color to it. The excellent ramrod is original and matches the metal. The musket has a tight as new action and excellent bore in it. This Is An Excellent Throughout Example Of An Early U.S. Civil War Military Issued Springfield Model 1861 Musket Dated 1862 That Would be A Great Addition To Any Civil War Collection!
