Colt Special Lady .38 Special Revolver — Very Good to Excellent Condition
This is a really nice Colt Special Lady, one of the rarest modern D-frame Colt revolvers ever produced. This one was manufactured in 1996. The Special Lady was a limited-edition stainless .38 Special revolver built on the classic Detective Special frame. With an estimated production of only about 250 units, this model represents one of Colt’s most elusive late-era double-action revolvers — highly sought after by both collectors and Colt enthusiasts.
This particular example is in very good to excellent condition, showing gentle use and careful handling. The revolver has been fired but remains exceptionally clean and tight. The high-polish stainless finish retains outstanding luster, with deep reflective shine across the frame and barrel. A faint cylinder line is visible, indicating some, but minimal use. The only notable cosmetic blemish is a light surface scratch just below the cylinder release, shown clearly in the photos.
While this revolver does not include the original factory box or paperwork, it is still remarkably rare and in very good condition. The fit, finish, and smooth double-action trigger all function as intended and exemplify Colt’s craftsmanship at the end of the D-frame era. As one of fewer than 300 produced, this Special Lady would be a fine shooter and a solid collectible colt. This is a rare opportunity to own a very elusive Colt.
