"Serial No. 98550, manufactured late 1944 to early 1945, chambered in 7.7x58mm, with a 25½" round barrel. Serial numbers are matching throughout, and the chrysanthemum (“mum") remains fully intact on the receiver. This example exhibits all hallmark features of the late-war “last ditch" pattern: a simplified fixed rear sight, cylindrical bolt handle, short handguard, and crude finish associated with the final desperate stages of Japanese wartime production. The three-piece wood stock is in good condition with minor handling marks; the wooden buttplate has been removed, which was common during this period of resource scarcity. The action is smooth and fully functional.
