Description:

Synopsis:

A superb, all-matching early post-WWII FN High Power GP35 in "A" prefix serial range with fixed sights, round hammer, internal extractor, thumbprint slide, and fitted with late WWII WaA140 accepted magazine. It doesn't get much better!

Description:

Gorgeous, standard configuration FN High Power pistol manufactured circa 1946-1950, in "A" prefix serial range, cal. 9mmP, with 4.7-inch barrel and serial number A13745, with rust blued finish, fixed front sight and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE" and "HERSTAL-BELGIQUE" with "BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE" below, accompanied by various proof marks. All matching with stacked serial numbers on exposed barrel hood, slide and frame. Fitted with checkered, bordered walnut grips, no internal paint, and late war "WaA140" marked magazine with blued finish. The High Power was designed in response to a French military requirement for a new service pistol called the "Grand Rendement" (high efficiency), later adopted by the Belgian Army in 1935 followed by a host of other militaries.

Condition:

Phenomenal 99+% bright original rust blue with only a few small and very superficial handling marks. Negligible sharp edge wear. No appreciable staining on exposed barrel hood that shows little suggestion of firing. Dark grips with very crisp checkering, VG magazine with insertional wear and lightly freckled split tail floorplate. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. An absolutely outstanding early post-World War II Belgian High Power pistol in the A-prefix serial range, sure to please the pickiest collector..
