Description:

Synopsis:

This all-matching original finish 1913 dated DWM German Military Luger Pistol is a scarce pre-WWI 9mmP military firearm whose key features include the absence of a hold open and no stock lug. A wonderful find for the German pistol or military collector, seldom offered for sale in this condition!

Description:

Scarce, MILITARY configuration DWM Luger, made in 1913, cal: 9mmP, with no hold-open, no stock lug, and military acceptances on the right side of barrel extension. Rust blued major components and strawed small parts. Four inch bbl with drift adjustable front sight and V-notch rear sight. Receiver dated "1913" with intertwined DWM on the middle toggle link. Full serial number “263a” on forward frame and under barrel, "263" on left side of barrel extension, and “63” repeated on all small parts including both panels of the checkered walnut grips. Tinned magazine with unmarked wooden plug. The 1913 DWM Luger represents a transitional period to the standard configuration, with hold-open and stock lug, that served throughout the First World War.

Condition:

VG+ original rust blue finish with sharp edge wear in the usual holster/handling locations with light freckling on the front and rear grip straps. Comparable condition strawed parts with thinning and toning, particularly on the forward portion of the takedown lever, the body of the safety and the face of the trigger. Oil darkened walnut grips with light blunting but no cracks or splits, VG+ tinned body of the magazine whose unmarked plug is a replacement. Mirror bright bore with sharp rifling. Correct manual mechanics. A very early, original, and all-matching German military Luger from 1913 with no hold open or stock lug, easily upgraded with a better magazine.
