Here is an example of our custom made ELK HORN SMOOTH GRIPS.
. They are highly polished natural ELK HORN grips that look and feel just like hand made custom grips, with all the strong grain and character of mother natures material. These grips are made of hard Elk horn and will age over time. They come with the escutcheons and screws installed. You will find a grip locator pin hole it may need to be adjusted slightly to match up with your grip locator pin on the inside of your grip frame. Most will have some character colors. Under close examination you will see the natural grain.
The Grips are made to close specifications as to assure a good fit to your gun. Some sanding will be required to get a perfect fit.
Our Colt Grips are made slightly oversized and will fit 3rd generation Colts and can be fitted to most clones , such as Cimarron, Uberti, Pietta, Armi San Marco, Heritage Rough Rider Big Bore, unless otherwise specified.
When any of these grips are installed as a ONE PIECE GRIP they will come with a space to be glued between the grip halves. Remember they are natural material and may have some minor imperfections. They are not as dense as ivory and can have noticeable porous areas.
NOTE: For best fit we prefer to have your revolver.
If you are not comfortable with that, we can work from your original grips.
In that case you may nave some fitting to do, either way the price is the same.
