Winchester Model 1892 Saddle Ring Carbine 44-40 cal Bore VG, Mech Exc, works well with a tight action Wood is original showing use VG fits good to metal also has a large C rear of the lower tang. Has an original 20” Rd barrel with original sights ,rear sight is missing the top part, Also has excellent markings Winchester address and 44 wcf markings. The receiver has excellent top Winchester tang markings and the bottom of the receiver has the serial#68442 Mfg’d 1894. The top tang also has a number 75724 and the bolt has a crown V marking at the top rear of the bolt. The receiver has a large C marking on the top front between the bbl and bolt also has a crown V then B.& S 1097 marking on the left side of the receiver. The barrel has several interesting markings on the left side is marked China Navigation Co ltd and a proof marking . Metal overall has an aged grey brown patina finish with a some very fine pitting . The top of the bolt still has some original blue showing little use , carried and handled a lot but not shot so much. Have some info on this carbine which is that this carbine was specially marked and used by chinese river boat crews to fight off piracy as china had internal civil disturbances and the anti-foreign boxer rebellion between 1899 and 1901.
