Description:
PERIOD NEW YORK ENGRAVED Antique Smith & Wesson .32 DA Revolver PEARL GRIPS

Beautiful NICKEL and GOLD PLATED Self Defense Gun

Here we present a Period New York Engraved antique Smith & Wesson 4th Model .32 Double Action Revolver, made circa the late 1880s in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Smith & Wesson Fourth Models were produced between 1883 and 1909 with a total production of approximately 239,600 examples. Examples serial numbered under 209,300 are considered to be antique, with this gun serial numbered “109027”. As mentioned above, this revolver was chambered for the .32 S&W cartridge and was usually equipped with a 3” or 3-1/2” barrel.
They were fitted with a 5-shot fluted cylinder and were either blue finished or nickel plated. They came with a top break design and round butt. The grips were either checkered or floral embossed hard rubber with the S&W monogram. The serial number ranged from 43406 to 282999. This model was quite similar in appearance to the Third Model, except the trigger guard is oval shaped instead of squared back as in the previous models.

These were petite and handy little guns that chambered 5 cartridges, perfect for the pocket and enough to get out of most scrapes. With gangsters, and career criminals running rampant, this example would have been the “pocket advantage” a person needed.

The overall condition is very fine. Original nickel, blue, and gold finishes. Excellent action. The bore is in good shape with sharp rifling and a frosted appearance. Well-defined engravings. Fine fiery pearl grips. Legible markings. Numbers match.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 3 inches.
