Offered here and just acquired is a very fine classic Ruger rifle manufactured just steps away from our offices and gallery in Southport, Ct. Due to our managing the Ruger Collectors Assc. (RCA) we have literally thousands of Ruger firearms come through our doors in our 50 years in the business.
This perimen the “ Ruger Model No. 1 (1-S) NRA Hunt of a Lifetime Medium Sporter Rifle is chambered for the 7mm Rem. Mag. Cartridge.
Manufactured in 1977 as a part of the NRA's "Hunt of a Lifetime Sweepstakes, only 104 of these rifles were manufactured. This rifle is one of the first numbered – serial number “NRA 4” and features a ramped brass beaded blade front and a flip up rear notch sight on a matte quarter rib mounted with scope rings. The barrel markings are standard. The right side of the receiver is marked "THE AMERICAN HUNTER/NRA (NRA logo) NRA/1977 HUNT OF A LIFETIME." Mounted on a multi-point checkered Alexander Henry-style walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with steel grip cap, sling swivel studs and solid rubber factory recoil pad. In addition the rifle has mounted an excellent Leupold 3x9x40 Vari-X II scope.
The condition is excellent overall with 99% original blue finish and only light handling marks. Superb Ruger Number 1.
