Here is a nice 12 gauge Westley Richards top-lever hammergun, built circa 1880s. The 28" nitro-proved barrels have been sleeved and re-blacked. The chambers are 2 1/2" and the bores are excellent, choked .017/.031 (approximately modified and light full or improved modified.) The gun locks up tight. The action has semi-percussion fences, and a slender top-lever. The bar-action locks are rebounding. The left hammer seems to be a replacement. The receiver has border and scroll engraving. The splinter fore-end has crisp checkering, and a Deeley & Edge patent lever release. The butt-stock likewise has crisp checkering, and light figure. The stock measures 1 5/8" x 2 3/8" x 14 3/8" with a checkered butt. There is very slight cast off. The weight is 6 lbs 12 oz. I would happily carry this gun after pheasants or sharptails.
