Description:

The Steyr Model SSG was the standard sniper rifle of the Austrian Army, introduced in 1969. This commercially offered firearm has a 26” barrel, hooded ramp-post, front sight and a flip up rear sight. Receiver, grooved for scope, is marked on the left side with manufacturer and model. The right side of the receiver is marked “ MADE IN AUSTRIA “ along with the serial number and proofing, the latter repeated on the barrel that is also marked with the caliber, and importer: L.E.S. of Skokie, IL. Action with desirable Austrian/German double-set style trigger. Complete with two 5 round plastic magazines and upgraded with a “LEUPOLD VX-III 4.5-14x50mm LONG RANGE” scope, duplex reticle with two stadia lines, and quick detachable mounts. Synthetic olive-green stock stock with checkering at the forearm and grip and an adjustable recoil pad. Steyr cleaning kit.

Condition:

Rifle appears as nearly new with only a few superficial scuff marks on the barrel near the muzzle and a few small faint patches of discoloration. No discernible marks on the stock. The scope is in similar condition with crystal-clear duplex optics. Excellent magazines, the plastic housings showing a few superficial scuffs. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. Comparable condition cleaning kit. A wonderful, no-excuse, Austrian sniper rifle with a top of the line Leupold scope.
