Description:
Not much is known about the gunsmith L. Winter of Thusis (Canton Grison), according to literature references, he was
in business around 1840 and most likely went out of business as Thusis burnt down in 1845. The census shows a population of 769 in 1850. The percussion rifle still reflects elements of early 19th century flintlock sharp shooters rifles. OAL=48"
barrel=32", barrel width=27.12mm/1.07", bore=14.5mm (57 cal), weight=10.5 lbs. Octagonal barrel with dovetailed front sight, dovetailed adjustable rear sight. Adjustable single trigger, original ram rod, German silver and brass furniture. Nice walnut full length stock in good condition, some carved decoration and floral inlay at the tang. Some loss of plum blue metal finish. Add this attractive Swiss Stutzer to your collection. We charge 3% for credit cards.
