Description:
General Specs: Weatherby, 1974, 20 Gauge, 6lbs. 13oz., Chokes SK/IC, LOP 14 3/8″, DAH 2 7/16″, DAC 1 1/2″
Serial Number:  R03874

Vintage Firearms is pleased to present this Italian made and handsomely engraved Weatherby Regency.  At first look, I thought, this is a Seventies gun, and sure enough, after speaking with the folks at Weatherby, it was made in 1974.  Gold details are found in a few key spots to give that swanky panache – beginning with an inlay on the chamber announcing the brand, the selective trigger, forend release lever, and another inlay of the brand and model on the bottom of the frame compliment the overall rich golden hues of the beautiful wood stock and forend.

The 28” barrels have excellent bluing with some of the expected light wear with bores that are a 9.5 of 10.  The ventilated narrow rib has some evidence of light rust. The receiver and sideplates have deep floral engraving, excellent screws, and a secure locking crossbolt closure.  The floral and checker engraved lever lands just right of center above a simple tang safety.  The wood has beautiful figure, and the finish hides well the few light handling marks that are present.  The checkering is comfortable and rates a 9.5 out of 10. The handsome pistol grip cap and recoil pad are both classic Weatherby-style.

This gun has great dimensions and balance, and it will turn heads at the club.  Thanks for considering Vintage Firearms.
