The Colt Open Top Model Single Action Pocket Revolver was produced by Colt from 1871 to 1877. The Open Top model was Colt's first successful metallic cartridge revolver, and it was a popular choice among law enforcement officers and civilians alike. The revolver was designed to fire a black powder .22 rimfire cartridge, and it featured a unique open-top frame design that made it easy to load and unload.
The spur trigger on this particular revolver was a common feature of pocket revolvers of the time, and it made it easy to draw and fire the weapon quickly. The walnut grips are also a nice touch, adding to the overall aesthetic appeal of the revolver.
Condition: 2.375” nice bore with some moderate pitting and still showing strong rifling. Original metal surfaces still retain some of the original nickel on the barrel and cylinder. The frame has developed into a nice a ocher brass showing some minor dings and mild scratches. The smooth walnut grips remain in near good condition with strong parts of original varnish and some light handling marks. The barrel markings are very good and legible. Mechanically has a strong hammer action .Timing and lock up very good. Included with custom case and a full box of vintage .22 short for disply with this revolver.
