Description:
This is a model 1898 Rock Island Arsenal canteen marked "US and R.I.A 1908" with cover in very good condition, tight stitching and light age soiling. The canteen body appears in good condition with no dents and light oxidation around the spout. This canteen is missing the stopper and chain. The short livedstrap with two simple brass hooks is in very good+ condition with great hardware and clearly marked "R.I.A 1904". This is a fine example of a pre-war canteen and strap.;
