Like New DESIRABLE Early Kimber 82 .22LR Rifle and Scope Package C. Late 1980s-Early 1990s
Offered here and just acquired is a superb Kimber 82 .22LR sporting rifle. NEAR NEW condition. This specimen bears the stamped barrel address of "KIMBER OF AMERICA CLACKAMAS, OREGON U.S.A.". Serial #01555. It has a 22" barrel with finely checkered pistol grip and forearm. Nicely figured American walnut stocks.
This rifle almost certainly dates from Kimber’s older Oregon era and the low serial number most likely dates it from the late 1980s to the 1990s. The stamped barrel address “KIMBER OF AMERICA CLACKAMAS, OREGON U.S.A.” points to Kimber production when the company operated in Oregon .

"The rifle is actually from approximately the middle of the time when Kimber of Oregon/America made rimfire rifles in Oregon. There were 3 incarnations, A, B and C. A’s were unmarked as such, B’s and C’s were included in their serial number. Kimber of Oregon produced the A and B rifles and went bankrupt. The new company, Kimber of America produced the C guns. The best designed rifles were the B’s. Your rifle is actually a B that was left over from the KoO production and was lettered as a C during the final finishing.
The Model 82 .22LR sporting configuration — 22″ barrel, finely checkered pistol grip and forearm, nicely figured American walnut, factory Kimber recoil pad — matches Kimber’s higher-end rimfire rifles from that era (Kimber produced a number of small-series, well-appointed rimfire sporters in the late 20th century).
It also comes mounted with a fine Redfield 3x9 rifle scope. A Redfield 3×9 mounted on it is period-appropriate for a late-20th-century sporting rifle — Redfield scopes were commonly paired with quality rimfires in that era. The rifle does not appear to have seen any use and was just stored away in a hard case with the former owner's other collection. Original Kimber factory recoil pad. Having original factory recoil pad and excellent walnut with only tiny storage marks strengthens the case that this is an original, early, well-preserved Kimber Model 82 — and early production numbers can certainly be more interesting to collectors. Just a couple of minute storage marks. Exceptional Kimber 82 rifle package.
