Description: This is a nice Browning Superposed 12 gauge shotgun that was manufactured in 1959. This gun remains in good overall shape with some minor wear from use over the years. The action type is an O / U, top break with ejectors and a manual safety / barrel selector. The left of the top barrel is marked "BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST LOUIS Mo. & MONTREAL P.Q. / SPECIAL STEEL – 12 GA. – SHELLS 2 3/4"", the right is marked "PATENTS No 2.203.378 – 2.23386 / MADE IN BELGIUM". The left of each barrel is marked with Belgian proofs. At the breech on the left, the top barrel is marked "", the bottom " *", the bottom-left of the monoblock is marked "71875" and there are inspector marks on the bottom of the monoblock between the lugs. The left of the forend latch is marked "1405S2". The top tang is marked "1405S2", the bottom of the receiver is marked "BROWNING" with a bust portrait of John Browning and the water table is marked with Belgian proofs. The receiver has Grade 1 engraving. The barrels are a 28" vent rib choked Full over Modified. The top of the rib is checkered. There is bead mounted at the front of the rib. The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with a round knob pistol grip, fluted straight comb, and a Browning hard rubber butt plate.
