Description:
Up for sale is a beautiful Early Ithaca 37 Skeet in 16 gauge. This gun sports the highly desireable Knick rib on a 26" barrel with twin ivory beads. The gun was originally choked modified but has had an early poly choke added that functions well. The bluing shows edge finish wear with light freckling and I believe it may be an example of hand chased engraving. The wood on this gun is beautiful with hand checkered forend and pistol grip stock with factory grip cap. The LOP is 13.5" to a NOS Ithaca sunburst recoil pad. This Ithaca weighs in at 6lbs 1.4oz.
The action on this gun is silky smooth and it points and swings extremely well with the wide rib. While the poly choke may detract from collectability in some people's opinion, I believe it makes it a perfect bird gun and one anybody would be proud to carry afield.
