The 39 has been rated as the finest 22 lever action rifle ever built , by anyone!! I wholeheartedly agree.
I'm 84 years young and have hunted with nearly every make and style of rifle . This rifle is the exact original model 39.
In 1970 Marlin pulled the original 39 specs from the file and made the 39 C L to celebrate 100 years of production .
Fifty five years ago my brother and I each bought a 39 CL. Brother has since passed but he and I never changed back to any other rifle.
Once you hold this 39 you'll know why.
This gun is in fine condition. Has few very minor marks probably from fingernail. We took it apart looking for dirt, rust, corrosion, wear sign, anything. We found nothing. It's as clean inside as outside. We loaded five long rifle shells in it and fired them in little over a second.
