Description:
Here is a fantastic two-barrel set by Albert Barnes of Ulverston (Cumbria, England.)  The rifle barrel is in 7x57r.  The length is 25.5" and the bore is excellent.  There is a ramped front sight, grooved for a hood.  There is a raised quarter rib with a rear sight consisting of one standing leaf and a folding leaf marked for 200 yards.  The rib is grooved to accept quick-detach rings which hold a Zeiss 6x32 scope with duplex reticle and excellent optics.  The action has tear-drop fences, and features the maker's name in a flowing banner, surrounded by scroll engraving.  The firing pin is bushed and removable.  The fore-end has an ebony schnabel tip with a push-button release.  The fore-end has a wooden liner for use with the rifle barrel.  (See photo.)  The figured straight-grip walnut stock has a 14 1/8" LOP.  The 16 gauge shotgun barrel is 28" with a 2 1/2" chamber and excellent bore.  It is choked .026 (about improved modified.)  The weight of the rifle is: (scoped) 7 lbs 8 oz; (unscoped) 6 lbs 10 oz and (with the shotgun barrel) 5 lbs 5 oz.  A very classy English single shot in a great chambering.
