Description: All original German ZF4 scope marked Gw ZF4/71942/ddx. The original Walther Mount is numbered 1472 and is Waffen "359" Proofed. This combination was the primary scope setup for a proper G43/K43 Sniper used by the German Armed Forces during world war II in the 1940's. Just like the rifles, these were produced at a very fast pace and were not meant to last long term. They were built to take on the Russians in the Eastern Front and most likley not return. A lot of them did not! As expected, the glass has a bit of light fog, but the reticle is crisp and clear and really is well lit in good, outdoor day light. No cracks, chips, etc in the glass. The front strap on the bottom has a slight arsenal repair. It's 85 years old and was never built to last this long. This can still be used for shooting. The scope and mount are 100% original WW II items and I obtained them from Darrin Weaver on a K43 in person. Colonel Weaver is the premier authority on this subject and has written the books used on this subject over the past 25 years. I had Mr. Weaver endorse both items on a piece of paper and that can accompany the item if desired for proper provenance for the buyer. These pieces are getting so hard to find in good working order. The mounts especially. This would be that great addition you're looking for to compliment your German WW II Collection and especially atop a G/K43.
