Smith & Wesson M&P .45 — full-size, ported with dual muzzle ports for reduced muzzle rise and faster follow-ups. Reliable striker-fired platform with excellent ergonomics and strong trigger. Note: porting increases muzzle blast and flash; recommended cleaning after range use. Great for range and duty use. (Magazines, optic/holster fit available on request.) Complete with box and 3 mags. Included are all the optics plates, screws, and back straps.
“Dual ports" refers to two muzzle/slide vents (usually cut into the barrel and/or slide) located near the muzzle that redirect gas upward when the round fires. This functions like a small compensator — it reduces muzzle rise by pushing the muzzle down as the bullet exits.
How it changes the M&P .45:
Reduced muzzle flip — follow-up shots are faster and more controllable, especially helpful with a heavy-kicking .45 ACP.
Perceived recoil — the felt rearward impulse is similar, but the muzzle rotation is reduced.
Noise & blast — porting vents gas upward, which makes the muzzle report feel and sound sharper to bystanders and the shooter; flash and dust/blast can be more pronounced.
Slide/holster fit — ported slides or barrels can change slide profile; some holsters may not fit if they rely on the original slide geometry.
Ejection / reliability — typically fine if done correctly (factory or quality gunsmith), but poorly cut ports or incorrect tuning can affect reliability.
Concealment — ported guns often print differently and are less ideal for deep concealment due to blast and slide changes.
