Description:
The Winchester Model 24 (commonly called a Winchester 24) is a classic American side-by-side field shotgun produced by Winchester in the early 20th century. Built for sportsmen and hunters, these break-open double guns were valued for simple, rugged reliability and straightforward field use rather than lavish engraving or deluxe fittings. This example, with serial number 25333 and manufacture date of 1940, fits into the pre-/early WWII era of Winchester production—an era when many guns were intended for hard use in the field. 

For sale: a vintage Winchester side-by-side Model 24, 20 gauge, serial 25333, manufactured in 1940. This is a classic Winchester field gun with honest hunter’s wear and good bore condition.
Details:
  • Gauge / Chamber: 20 gauge, chambers 2¾" shells.
  • Barrels: 28" blued barrels with a solid serrated rib. Barrels are choked FULL / MODIFIED
  • Bore: Shiny, smooth bores — very good internal condition for a gun of this age.
  • Sight: Silver bead front sight.
  • Action & Controls: Side-by-side break-open action, dual triggers, tang automatic safety, tang barrel release, and functioning extractor. Action operates as it should on visual and manual inspection.
  • Finish & Wear: Original bluing showing carry wear around the receiver and barrel, with the receiver changing to a pleasing patina. Toward the muzzles the bluing shows moderate field wear consistent with years of hunting/service. No evidence of  rebluing; finish is honest and attractive to field collectors.
  • Stock & Forearm: Walnut with a nice smooth grip butt stock - forearm finish; butt stock - forearm show field wear, moderate handling marks, and a few hunting scars. The butt is partially covered by a Broadway boot, so a portion of the heel is not currently visible.  LOP - 14 1/2" front trigger to back of the boot.
