Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer this rare Remington 510 Targetmaster. A single shot .22 Bolt Action shotgun. This example was manufactured in June 1946, The Routledge Counterbored smoothbore is chambered for .22 Long Rifle Shotshell. Introduced for the novel indoor trap shooting which was in vogue during the 1940’s. The Routledge Bore was a specialized smooth bore design that flared to about .410 bore for the latter half of the barrel to improve shot patterning. This was originally developed by Fred Routledge and applied to some Remington 510s. This gun displays 98% bluing on the barrel and receiver, a mirror like bore, and furniture with original factory finish. The Remington 510 Targetmaster was manufactured between 1939 and 1962 with 558,686 being produced but the Routledge Bore version is a rare sight. Beginning production in 1939 an unknown number (probably only a few thousand) of this Targetmaster variant were produced. This example would be ideal for collectors seeking a rare addition or for those who enjoy indoor skeet shooting. We also have the Remington Routledge deluxe version pump action model 121 available for sale, collect the whole set! Thanks for looking!
